A Bright and Modern Primary Wynnewood Bathroom
There’s a reason why bathroom renovations are often at the top of a homeowner’s must-fix list. As a space you use often, the last thing you need is a cramped space, poor storage solutions, bad lighting, and an inefficient layout. That’s a lot of pain points when you’re trying to start—or end—your day on a positive note! Fortunately, the right team of designers can help create the ultimate oasis that functions in all the right ways.
The Elegant Wynnewood Project
While our recent clients’ Wynnewood home may have had a lot of historic charm, the 1950s-era primary bathroom was an outdated, leaking mess. They asked our team to reenergize the space into a larger, more modern retreat that better suited their style and their needs. The space was also suffering from dampness, creating an environment with unhealthy indoor air quality.
After an initial consultation where we conducted an on-site survey to discuss the project’s scope, take measurements and photograph the space, our design team created mood boards to help us hone in on the homeowners’ style preferences.
We love presenting a few schematic design options at this stage to show clients the range of possibilities and see which elements they prefer. We really liked the idea of a natural-feeling oasis, so we presented two double vanity options—one in a rich wood and the other in an earthy green—that would work well with the creamy off-white tile combinations for the shower and the floor that we wanted to use to brighten up the room.
Next, we created a detailed 3D rendering of the space so our clients could visualize their soon-to-be-finished bathroom down to the smallest details.
An Updated Oasis
A beautiful, deep sage-y green was the perfect color in the end for this double vanity, which features plenty of closed storage and a clean white countertop to balance the piece. Above it, a backlit mirror makes getting ready a breeze.
We selected light-toned tile in a large cut for the flooring and the shower walls to minimize grout joints for a sleek effect and to reduce potential areas of moisture accumulation. The shower also sports organically shaped pebble flooring which, like the earthy vanity, helps to bring a natural feel into this private retreat.
The enlarged, glass-enclosed shower allows light to filter throughout the room so there are no dark corners anymore. In the stall, custom corner shelves corral all the necessities and even provide a convenient footrest for shaving, while just outside, two towel racks sit within easy reach.
Black fixtures and finishes give just the right amount of contrast and balance throughout, pulling in key touches of modern design. Finally, white walls and minimal-yet-thoughtful décor finish off the space into the primary bathroom of our clients’ dreams.
This new, bright, and spacious bathroom is exactly what the homeowners had been hoping for! A much better fit for their family’s needs and style, it’s certain to bring sighs of relief to their morning routine.
